Andrew Binger, a professional educator and theatre artist from Bloomfield, NJ, joined Special Ensemble back in March of 2014. Andrew earned his B.A. from Drew University spending a semester studying acting at the world famous London Dramatic Academy (and literature at FSU’s London campus). Andrew has dedicated himself to the arts, education and the magical place where those two worlds converge. As an actor he has performed at theatres like The Shakespeare Theatre of NJ, Passage Theatre and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).
Additionally, Andrew is an active teaching artist; having done acting and playwriting residencies & workshops for various groups and organizations including; The Marion A. Bolden Student Center, Drew University’s EOS program and Branch Brook School.
Andrew is a firm believer in the transformative power of service and has volunteered at orphanages in Honduras and the Dominican Republic, served victims of homelessness in Washington D.C. (through Y.S.O.P.) and aided with Hurricane Sandy relief in NY and NJ.
Andrew joined the Newark Boys Chorus School faculty in December of 2013.
The circumstances facing the youth, in our community, is troubling. We must take our community back and the arts should play an integral role in this process.
