Musical Director Candice Anderson

candi2013For the past 15 years, Candice Anderson has been working with some of the biggest stage and recording stars from the entertainment industry, including Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Stephanie Mills, Talib Kweli, Robert Randolph, Wyclef Jean, and Erykah Badu. She can be heard on countless album recordings, including John Legend’s “Get Lifted,” Lauryn Hill’s “Tell Him” form the album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill,” and Robert Randolph’s “Unclassified.” Candice recently conducted an arts workshop, as vocal instructor, for students at The American History High School in Newark and has been teaching vocal mechanics to singers, actors, dancers, and speakers for over 10 years She is a versatile professional performer; her theater credits include: Dreamgirls, Porgy and Bess Hip-Hop Era, and The Colored Museum. Candice holds a BA in psychology with a minor in music and theatre from Rutgers University-Newark. She is currently the Vocal Music Instructor for the Children’s Performing Arts Academy at Newark Symphony Hall and has been the Musical Director of the Special Ensemble for over a year. Candice fervently believes, “Music is the greatest communication in the world and singing is a universal language.”
